Easy Chicken Recipe – Baked Chicken Breast Tenders with Sausage Crumb Coating
Kielbasa or Italian sausage will add a wonderful blend of spicy goodness to this baked chicken breast recipe. All the flavors from the sausage blend with the flavor of the chicken. Since the sausage is already seasoned you don’t really need much more seasoning but cayenne pepper gives this dish a little heat boost. You could use boiled ham in place of the sausage, but since ham is usually not seasoned as much as sausage, you might need to add a little extra sage and salt and pepper.<p>
If you are concerned about too much unsaturated fat, not to worry as olive oil is much healthier than butter. Baking, as opposed to frying also helps reduce fat here. My preferred method for cooking this dish is to use a cast iron skillet or grill to sear the <a href=”http://www.frankernhart.com”><chicken breast/a>
. This gives the chicken a chance to brown and make those little extra flavor bits on the surface.<p>
IMHO this is “comfort food” at its very best. Hope you enjoy it. <p>
Sausage Coated Chicken Breast Bake<p>
Ingredients <br>
8 oz boneless, skinless chicken breast piece<br>
1 Polish sausage link (about the size of a hot dog) <br>
1 cup bread crumbs <br>
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper <br>
1 tbsp olive oil<p>
Instructions<p>:
1 – Grind sausage, bread crumbs, and cayenne pepper<br>
in food processor. (Comes out like a heavy paste) <br>
2 – Heat olive oil in oven proof skillet and sear chicken breast 3 or 4 minutes per side. <br>
3 – With the hands mold the sausage crumb paste to cover all the chicken breast<br>
4 – Put back into the same skillet and put into a 350 degree preheated oven for 15<br> minutes<p>.
